Group Purchasing - Decreases Your COGs
RxPlus negotiates wholesaler pricing on your behalf. Negotiating prices
as a group versus individually assures you are getting competitive
pricing on your wholesaler purchases.
Rebates and Profit Sharing - Further Improvements to Your Bottom Line
RxPlus furthers improves your bottom line through substantial generic
and brand rebates which increase as the group grows its purchase volume.
Since RxPlus is a true purchasing coop, profits from RxPlus are shared
with the pharmacies based on their share of the total purchase volume.
This profit sharing can further reduce your drug wholesaler pricing by
up to 2%.
Contract Vendors - Vendors Research Done for You
Preferred vendors offer special pricing and programs to RxPlus Members
and are required to attend our annual summer meeting to retain preferred
vendor status. The RxPlus Board of Directors vendor committee reviews
proposals from many vendors to choose products and services that fit
member's needs such as supplies, products, PBM audit assistance,
pharmacy computer and automation systems, and OTC products to name a
few.
Legislative Services - State and Local Lobbying Efforts on Your Behalf
State and National lobbying on behalf of RxPlus Members. Brad Young,
Director of Government Affairs, is a former five-term Colorado
Legislator and former Chairman of the Joint Budget Committee during two
of his terms. Recent legislative efforts by Brad and our contract
lobbyists have resulted in $10 Million in savings from defeating a bill
that would allowed optional mail order for Medicaid in Colorado; $1.8
Million in savings by defeating a proposed state sponsored pharmacy
discount card program, and $14.5 Million savings from persuading
Department of Medicaid not to implement an aggressive state MAC program.
Brad meets face-to-face with congressional delegates annually to
discuss pharmacy issues and is active with NCPA legislative efforts and
state pharmacy associations in states where we have members.
Pharmacy Resource - Research Done For You
RxPlus stays on top of issues and policy impacting member stores. Kathy
Muller, Director of Operations does research and notifies members of
critical issues impacting their business. This is a service that many
members use frequently. Members call Kathy with questions about many
pharmacy related items such as Medicare Part D, HSA/FSA Cards, and
Regulatory issues.
Third Party Network and PBM Services - PBM Contracting and Claim Reconciliation
RxPlus has partnered with a non-wholesaler owned network to provide
third party contracting, claim reconciliation, and PBM services for
members not wanting their wholesaler to control that part of their
business.
Discount Cards - Discounts without the Exorbitant Fees Charged by Other Discount Programs
RxPlus offers discount cards for members to provide to customers who
come to their store with discount cards that have unreasonable
reimbursements and fees. These cards process through a PBM for $.42 per
claim and members determine discounts through a menu of bin numbers.
Since this program is administered through a contracted PBM, you can
also increase profits and make your store competitive with loss leader
chain store generic programs without impacting your usual and customary
pricing.
NCPA Membership - Regular Updates on National Pharmacy Issues
RxPlus provides free membership to National Community Pharmacists Association for each member store.
RxCherryPick - Researches Cheapest Generics
The RxCherryPick service helps pharmacies obtain best price generic
drugs by scanning across multiple manufactures to find the cheapest
drug. When your wholesaler purchase order is complete a pharmacy can
submit the PO direct to multiple suppliers, including their primary,
with one click. RxCherryPick drives down the store's cost on an ongoing
basis by continually searching for the cheapest drugs in every purchase
order.
Succession Planning - Helping Pharmacy Students Focus on Independent Pharmacy
RxPlus awards scholarships to pharmacy students interested in
independent pharmacy practice, teaches business classes to NCPA chapter
pharmacy students, and works to bring together pharmacy buyers and
sellers.
Annual Meeting - Network with Your Peers
RxPlus provides Live continuing education and access to many vendor
exhibits providing pharmacy related products and services. RxPlus
offsets expenses for members to attend this yearly event which provides
several days of networking with independent pharmacy peers. Most years,
we provide immunization certification and CPR Training. RxPlus also
obtains doctors protocol for member's immunization programs.
