RxPlus Philanthropy
A gift to a friend can be a wise investment. RxPlus contributes to a number of causes that are critical to the future well-being of independent pharmacy. True to our mission statement, we contribute for political action, student support, education, and professional development.
NCPA
National Community Pharmacy Association represents community pharmacy both legally as well as legislatively. They are an excellent resource for community pharmacy and RxPlus believes that our members deserve to be kept up-to-date on all issues concerning their business. Because they are such a great resource and voice for community pharmacy RxPlus pays for their membership to belong to NCPA.
NCPA Chapters
RxPlus supports the NCPA chapters in many ways such as, awarding scholarships to their members, sponsoring meetings, bringing in speakers for membership drives, and inviting their officers to our annual meeting to meet our membership and begin to developing relationships.
RxPlus Scholarship Foundation
The Foundation was formed in 2007 and since its inception we have given out well over $100K in scholarships to students. The Foundation is funded through RxPlus ($20K per year) and their membership through a fund raiser during the RxPlus annual meeting. The Foundation also sponsors students from the NCPA Chapters to attend the NCPA National Conferences.
State Pharmacy Associations
Professional development is critical in a fast-changing technical world. RxPlus is a strong supporter of the state associations. As Benjamin Franklin said,
"We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately."
Schools of Pharmacy
The staff and members of RxPlus help put on a management class at the University of Colorado and Regis School of Pharmacy. The classes are a semester and we cover all aspects of community pharmacy. Last year at the University of Colorado we had 50 students attend the elective. This year at Regis we will have 50 students which is the entire first class from this new school.
Public Television
Some of the political shows on public television have a small but influential audience. Last year as elections heated up, we supported the Aaron Harbor Show.
